Handen commuter station stands beside the Rudan recreation area and was formerly called Haninge centrum. [1] [2] [3] [4]
The footbridge at the southern end of the station leads to Rudan. The municipality describes a lift from the platform to the bridge and a wide connecting path for bicycles, pushchairs and wheelchairs. [1]
The station was called Haninge centrum in 1989–2006. Older maps and travel descriptions may therefore use that name for today's Handen. [2]
SL's rail map places Handen on the branch towards Västerhaninge and Nynäshamn. Immediately north is Vega, followed by Skogås, Trångsund and Farsta strand on the route towards Älvsjö. [3]

Nynäsbanan opened in 1901 with Österhaninge station near Handen's road junction. The station was renamed Handen in 1913. [5]
