Train search — track a train

Where is my train?

Enter a train number and departure date to see calling points and delays

Is my train on time?

Enter the train number on your ticket and the travel date. Compare the scheduled time with the estimated or actual time at your station. A later time means a delay at that stop; missing data does not mean the train is on time.

For example, a scheduled arrival at 14:30 and an estimated arrival at 14:42 means a 12-minute delay. This is an illustration, not a live service. Estimates can change during your journey.

If your train is cancelled or the situation is unclear, check today's train delays, traffic notices and your train company's travel information.

What is the train tracker?

The train tracker lets you follow a specific train. Enter its train number and select a departure date to see the latest reported position, calling points and delays when these details are available.

Data comes directly from the Swedish Transport Administration's open API and is refreshed regularly. The tracker works for passenger trains reported in Sweden's national rail data, including services operated by SJ, Mälartåg, Öresundståg, X-tåget and Krösatågen.

How to find your train number

The train number and travel date identify the correct service. Some commuter trains may share a public train number with another service; in that case, use the station board to choose the correct departure. You can find the train number in several places:

Your ticket, whether digital or printed, normally shows the train number as “Train X” or as a number. Operators also show it in booking details and departure information. At the station, the departure board lists it beside the departure time.

These are examples of train numbers. Open a train page and check the travel date; the same number may be used for different journeys.

Find your train from the station board

If you do not know the train number, open the station board, select Departures or Arrivals and follow the train number from there. Check the travel date on the board.

Frequently asked questions about train tracking

Enter the train number and select today's date to see its latest reported position. If several commuter trains share a public train number, use the station board to find the correct departure.
Choose the required date in the date field. Past services and actual times appear while they remain available in the source data.
Not every train is included in the Swedish Transport Administration's open API. Freight services and some privately operated trains may be absent. Also check the date: a future service may not have live data until its departure day.
The delay shows the difference between the scheduled time and the actual or estimated arrival at each station. A positive number of minutes means the train is late. These figures update during the journey.
The map shows trains across Sweden together as moving icons. The train tracker focuses on one service and shows its available calling-point sequence, scheduled times and actual times in greater detail.
