Jordbro is the commuter station for a walk to the large Iron Age burial ground south of the community. [1] [2] [3]
The northern end of Jordbro burial ground begins about 1 km south of the commuter station. The municipality says the route is signposted from the station. [1]
Most of the burial ground lies east of the railway; a smaller part lies to the west by Nynäsvägen. The municipality describes the passage to the western part as steep and uneven. [1]
Jordbro lies on the railway corridor between Älvsjö and Nynäshamn and serves as the local commuter station between Västerhaninge and Haninge's northern stations. [2] [3]
Haninge Municipality's plan prioritises a bus terminal and walking and cycling routes near the commuter station. The project is on hold, so use signs and current journey information at the station. [3]
Haninge Municipality's cultural-environment inventory states that Jordbro station was built when the railway arrived in 1901; initially there was mainly a station building and a crossing keeper's cottage. [4]
